Chapter Elections
If your membership is in good standing, you are eligible to be a chapter officer candidate.
Elected chapter officers include president, 1st vice president, 2nd vice president, secretary and treasurer depending on your chapter bylaws. All terms run for two years. Official duties will be assumed at the end of THETRADESHOW being held in Orlando, Florida September 12-14, 2010, and continue through THETRADESHOW in 2012. Please contact your chapter president for further details.

Chapter presidents also serve on the Chapter Presidents Council.
Ballots for contested elections will be sent on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, and will due at ASTA headquarters no later than July 21, 2010.
We hope that qualified individuals will choose to participate in the ASTA election process and add their voice to ASTA's leadership.

From the President - June, 2010
Our Chapter elections are just around the corner. Please be sure and vote. We need your participation so we can have excellent representation on the chapter board.
I never thought it would be possible, but ASTA is offering us more education than ever before. Have you checked out this summer’s Webinar schedule? It is jam-packed and more are being added every week! Go to ASTA.org/Webinars and see for yourself. There are already four Webinars this month ranging from fraud prevention strategies to how to expand your cruise sales. You can also learn about THETRADESHOW and even how to sell Israel! Webinars are such a great tool because they allow you to learn something without having to travel to a conference or take time out of the office. And, they are free! There are four Webinars scheduled for July, two for August and even a few in the fall already. In the coming months we will learn about everything from public relations practices to social media and even more benefits of attending THETRADESHOW. Even if you miss the live presentation, check back in the video/audio library on ASTA.org and watch the recording whenever you want, however many times you want! Could this be any easier?
Speaking of THETRADESHOW, it’s time to start thinking about getting your flights and meeting the rest of the travel industry at this unique show. There are so many new things this year that we can’t miss out on. Have you heard about THETRAVELBLOGGERSSHOW yet? ASTA is rounding up travel blogging experts to teach us how to create and maintain our own blogs! This is something that will attract a young crowd of clients to your agency, something I know we all struggle with. Why not tell your clients where you’ve traveled and what you experienced so they know what an expert you really are? RSVP to Laura Gajewski if you are already registered to attend THETRADESHOW and want to attend the blogging seminars for free. If you haven’t registered to attend THETRADESHOW, you can do so online and then check the box for the blogger show to attend for free!
